The setting of this Italian eatery is undetectable from the street - a tiny storefront with a doorbell. It is a place imbued with warmth, from the golden walls to the plush velvet-seat chairs to the Sinatra on tape. Pull up the table, order a glass of wine (actually, the bottle selections are far superior and not expensive) and let Ermanno Perotti, the owner, take care of you. An excellent beginning is the entree of mussel with spaghetti. The ravioli with lobster or the linguine with gorgonzola are great main course choices.

Painter-collagist William Dunlap is one of the artists selected for the 2001 New Orleans Triennial but his work isn't ready for exhibition yet. Dunlap will present an interactive programme at the New Orleans Museum of Art, using the audience as part of his piece. His 'Dialogue etc'will be videotaped and then shown non-stop during the Triennial. Dunlap's only directive to the audience for his event is 'wear black'.

This song recital puts the text of the Portuguese writer Antero de Quental to music by his French contemporaries Henri Duparc and Francis Poulenc. It is being performed by the Portuguese soprano Elsa Saque to the accompaniment of pianist Nuno Vieira. The grand setting of the concert - Lisbon's 18th-century opera house the São Carlos, a faithful copy of La Scala in Milan - should give the performance and added touch of glamour.

Pierrick Sorin

French video artist Pierrick Sorin has turned the ground floor of the Fondation Cartier into his 'apartment' in a summary of his video output since the late-1980s. There's Sorin on a record player, a captivating installation of a three tiny Sorins dancing inside a fish tank, a delightful spoof documentary filmed in Nantes or the sheer visual comedy of the smelly shirt. Combining a sense of self-deprecating humour and a sense of slapstick almost worthy of Buster Keaton, there's plenty to giggle at. Sorin is also an innovator and observer of everyday life.

Ranging in subject matter from romantic to bawdy and from sensual to hardcore, this 300-plus shines a narrowly-focused light on the importance of sexuality in his work as a whole. Picasso had sex on the brain and randy thoughts clearly made him reach for his pencil - there are kisses aplenty, a blow job or two, some girl-on-girl action and more priapic men and minotaurs than you could shake a stick at. Drawings and engravings make the bulk of the exhibition, running from brothel scenes drawn in Picasso's youth to the late engravings series.

War Stories

'War Stories', the latest exhibition from the interactive museum of news, begins with the 1855 Crimean War and runs through and beyond the news-saturated Persian Gulf War. It documents the people and methods involved in covering wars throughout history. The show is typical Newseum with multimedia (newspaper pages, photos, films, TV, newsreels) and interactive exhibits (sections designed by 'American Century' author and guest curator Harold Evans) that are always fascinating and very popular.

The 205 Club, like Sapphire, is basically a nondescript bar that got hassled so much by the authorities for dancing patrons that it took the extraordinary step of obtaining a cabaret license.
