He looks like a cross between Herbie Hancock and a cartoon superhero, but Cary is the real deal: a jazz pianist with chops and highly organised musical visions. He cut his teeth in D.C.'s 1980s go-go scene and eventually graduated from the Duke Ellington School for the Arts, and his sense of groove is evident on albums like 'Rhodes Ahead, Vol. 1', in which he takes the Rhodes Piano into a whole new dimension.
