Donazione Eugenio da Venezia
An annual exhibition held to celebrate the Venetian painter Eugenio da Venezia and other local artists of the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s. This year also marks the centenary of da Venezia's birth (November 9). As interesting as the show is the venue itself, the museum/library/lecture hall Fondazione Querini Stampalia. A mid-16th-century palazzo, it was beautifully restored in the 1960s by Venice's only real modern architect Carlo Scarpa. His often radical interventions give the building an interesting old feel, with the wonderful Zen garden a very unique feature.
