Run to the Far Side
Cows, lizards, chickens, giraffes and snakes take to the streets in Golden Gate Park for the 16th annual 'Run to the Far Side'. The post-Thanksgiving Day fun run is a homage to the cartoon creations of Gary Larson and his 'Far Side' comic strip. The course meanders through the park and traces along some of the most beautiful parts of the grounds. Participants come dressed in full Larson-character regalia, as well as in 'serious-runner' gear. Walking routes and wheel chair races are also available. You do not have to register to participate, but if you do you get a cool commemorative t-shirt.
