Insect Exhibition

They're creepy, they're certainly crawly and, to many Japanese people from schoolkids on up, insects seem to exert a dreadful fascination. In this country, where giant stag beetles are sought-after children's pets, the sight of the Dynastes Hercules beetle on display here is more likely to result in envy than revulsion. If the giant beetle doesn't do it for you, then there are another 50,000 creatures to ogle, all taken from the collection of insect fanatic Etsuko Tsukada and kept in over 900 cases.

This is a beautiful picture taken just outside a group of Tuscany farmhouses. It was taken early in the morning, before the tourists had a chance to trample it. Just stunning!
